“Every work of art is unique and one of a kind.”

About
Güldehen Yoğurtçu is a professional photographer and abstract artist living in Berlin and Istanbul.
Her childhood and school years were spent in Berlin. She feels lucky to have grown up in two different cultures. She loves Berlin’s strict order and punctuality, which gives her productivity, and Istanbul’s chaotic timelessness, which forces her to stay in the flow. She believes that this contradiction shaped her vision and lifestyle.
After many years of experience in corporate life, she had to find a deeper connection with both life and her inner self. During her search, she entered the life of conceptual photography in 2005. In 2009, she began practicing this art professionally. Today, she takes photographs in lifestyle, backstage and product branches.
She began painting in her childhood. There were times when she stayed away from painting while enriching herself in other branches of art. A few years ago, she returned to the colors that called to her; she rejoined with her childhood passion by adding what life brought and what she acquired on the way to becoming a human being to her treasury. Painting was in her life again.
Güldehen Yoğurtçu, who believes that all branches of art are connected to each other, emphasizes that the artist is inspired and nourished by every branch of art. She thinks that conceptual photography leads her to abstract painting and that the two are related, that this is related to expression.
Lately, she’s been actively painting on her photos. Her paintings over her conseptual photos serve as a visual diary of her thoughts. Allowing thought to become emotion as if it had no boundaries and expectations, and really trying when over painting, makes her feel free. Stating that she experienced that infinite color change conveys and translates emotions, the artist thinks that every work of art is unique and one of a kind.
